My unprepared baby mind.

With baby Jagger coming in the next couple of months, I've been trying to make a list of the necessary items that we need. I know I only had a baby two years ago but I feel like I forgot what I really used and well, we don't have anything! Ha.

I'm really nervous about bringing a new baby into the family. I am just as much excited though. :)
I have breastfed both of my babies and I'm really looking forward to sharing that bond with Jagger as well. I've heard that breastfeeding with a toddler is pretty much insane. And yes, I am worried about that. Haha. Jentri is the baby. I am so curious to how she adjusts with the new baby...

A few things that I have on my list are---

A couple of these swaddle blankets. When I had Jentri, I had about a million receiving blankets and to be completely honest, I never even used them! I didn't like swaddling her in them either. I found these gauze swaddling blankets on etsy- They run a little expensive but I would so much rather use these than the regular receiving blankets people use.

How about wash cloths? I know that I'm being seriously picky here, but I have two kids and I know what I like and I know what I don't like. :) I haven't ever been a fan of the cheap-o wash cloths from the department store. A long with the almighty receiving blankets, I have received tons of wash cloths as gifts and they hardly get used. I decided to experiment and took some super soft fabric and made my own baby wash cloths. HUGE difference. I don't have my dang sewing machine or I would be whipping some of these little bad boys up too. You can also find these on etsy for about $6 for a pack of 3. WELL worth it!

One of my favorite things when Jackson was born were his little beanies... He lived in those things for the winter months. So of course I found some cute ones for Jag. Including these studly looking ones.

This lanolin saved my little nipples lives! Ha. Seriously. I had some serious sad nipples when I breastfed Jentri. I was miserable. Kind of weird-- but I have read that about a month before you deliver, after each shower to take a towel or a toothbrush and rub your nipples (roughly) and it will prepare your nipples for the baby! Why not try?

I used the playtex drop in bottles for my first two babies and I really liked them but they're just too expensive and kind of a pain in the butt, to be honest. So I've done some research and have decided to use Nuk bottles this time. I hear that these are great and an easy transition from breastfeeding. I'm totally looking forward to not running out of bottle bags. Haha.
These go for $17.99 on amazon but are about 5 bucks cheaper at Target!

The VTech Communications Safe & Sound Digital Audio Monitor. The kids' bedrooms are on the opposite end of the house and I would feel much better with this! Plus, it says you can talk into the monitor from the parents end... how cool is that?
Around $50. Not too shabby.

Target brand diapers. {cheap and never leak!} Pampers wipes. Butt Paste.

This is my plan since Jax and Jag are sharing a bedroom. I need to paint their dresser... if I could ever decide what color to do their room. Suggestions? ;)

I really need a baby sling/carrier, but am so not wanting to spend $50... guess we'll keep looking!

OH! I can't forget a pacifier clip. I can't tell you how many binky's Jentri has gone through in her young  life... Lol. This baby is DEFINITELY having a clip!

Some heavy duty burp cloths, too. Haha.

What are some BABY ITEMS you swear by?
What kind of baby wash? Lotion? Binky?

Oh... I am so unprepared.

  3. Hey don't be buying too much, your shower is in a few weeks!
Loved the NUK bottles, I used them with Tate and with Becks I love the avent, they are a little more expensive but I love them.
Aveeno cream for babies is the best lotion for their sensitive skin, it doesn't have that new baby smell though.
    Binki clips are the BEST!!
Missed you on Sunday, see you in a few weeks. Let meknow if you register somewhere.
And is that his name? I love it! Can't wait!!!
