broken leg update

Just a little update on my missy's leg.

Do you despise going to doctor's the way that I do?
Oh. My. Heavens.
When the whole shebang happened, I was going to take her to Primary Children's because that's where I always go. Then I was doubting the break and really didn't want to put her through sitting at that dang hospital for 8 hours. So I decided just to take her to the urgent care. I haven't ever had a problem with urgent care, I'm just biased and think that the U of U and Primary Children's are the only places that know anything. Haha. Probably my Mother wearing off on me.

The doctor at urgent care treated her for a broken leg, but said that another doctor would call me in a couple of days to confirm it and let me know what needed to happen.

My baby was miserable all weekend long. We knew it was broken, I was just anxious to get a call so that I could take the next step in helping my baby heal but I wasn't supposed to expect anything until Tuesday morning. Monday morning I got up pretty early and cleaned the house. I got Jentri up and tried to feed her but she wouldn't eat. She slept until noon! I think she would have slept all day but I got a phone call from urgent care saying that they didn't see a break in her leg and thought maybe her hip was injured so I needed to bring her in for more x-rays.

*insert a worried, sick, crying mom.*

After I pulled myself together and prayed, I debated on whether I should just take her to PCMC instead of wasting a trip to urgent care. Because no matter if something was wrong or not, urgent care wouldn't be able to do anything... But I decided that since they had already been seeing her, I would just take her back to them. I expected a long day ahead of us so I got us ready, packed a bag, and took Jackson to his Grandma's. We ventured up to Tooele and into the x-ray room we went. The doctor checked her out before they did anything. She tried to make her walk; wasn't happening. She thought maybe her knee joint was injured. I was just ready to find out what was REALLY going on with my baby.  Jentri was so nervous, you could just see it on her face. She had to sit there with no clothes and no diaper. She didn't like that too much but sat there like the sweet little angel that she is. The nurse went to confirm that the x-ray's were good enough and all of the sudden Jentri had diarrhea all over the room. Including me. She was so scared and I am pretty sure she felt some embarrassment. Poor girl doesn't ever cry but she sure does get sick.

Shortly after, the doctor came into our room and said that her leg was definitely broken and she was referring us to the fracture clinic at PCMC. Two days later we were in the clinic getting her hard cast on. When they asked what color she wanted, she quickly said "powple!" Haha. She did so good the entire appointment! They said that a child her age heals very quickly so we have an appointment set for 3 weeks and they expect it to be good and done. :)

We went to lunch after the appointment and what do you know... she throws up all over our food. Seriously, the girl does. not. cry. She has some kind of high pain tolerance where instead of being upset and sad, she just gets sick! Ahhh. I felt so bad for her.

She has been such a tough little thing through it all and I'm proud of my lil punkin. She is finally walking on it--- cutest little limp I've ever seen! It's heartbreaking to see your baby hurt but I'm thankful that it wasn't any worse. She is so funny-- if her finger hurts, or she stubs her toe, anything that makes her say 'ow', she tells me "Jackson. Trampine. Jump!" Pretty much saying that Jackson jumped on every owwie she gets. Lol... Silly girl.
