broken leg

on Saturday afternoon, my baby went with her big brother's to his Dad's house for a family party.
one of her *favorite* things to do is jump on the trampoline
or in Jentri talk- "TRAMPINE"
she is such a tough baby, she has a high pain tolerance and never cries when she gets hurt.
she got bounced by her big brother and a couple seconds later she just wanted to be held
she wouldn't cry but wouldn't be put down to walk
when Jake called me, he thought her back or neck was hurt...
i was worried sick! and i was twenty minutes away.
as soon as i got there she turned and reached for me, so i knew it wasn't her back or her neck.
they kept telling me maybe she was just scared or had whip lash
so i tried to put her down to walk and she just collapsed on the ground. :(
so goodbyes were said and off to the doctor we went!
she pointed to her knee and told me "owwie, jackson, jakes, trampine"
that's how her sentences work. lol.

i checked out her legs and her knee was swollen.. i figured it was broken.
the doctor examined her leg, put pressure on every spot, and she didn't say "ouch" once.
we were confused because she still wouldn't walk!
the only time she cried was when my mom held her down for the X-ray but as soon as she came back she was grinning ear to ear.

the doctor came back in to tell us that her
growth plate in her knee was cracked.
not exactly the news a Momma wants to hear!
i've never had a broken bone in my life and here my 20 month old baby girl has a broken leg.
they put a splint on it and told me to wait for the doctor to call me on Monday or Tuesday.
the X-ray would be looked at my another radiologist and they would let me know what exactly is going to happen.

she has been a tough little champ but it's heartbreaking to watch!
she is such an active little girl so she is having a hard time adjusting to going, going, going to not being able to do much of anything on her own.
yesterday she sat on the floor to play but couldn't move to reach all of her toys.. frustrating.
then she wanted to go for a walk.. but it hurts too much to even put weight on her leg.. frustrating.
so she just wanted mommy to give her a bubble bath and she can't get it wet!
that's when I started to cry.
a broken leg is really hard on this sweet baby girl!
thankfully brother got to come home yesterday and he's been a lot of support for her!
they are best friends! :)

he just feels so bad about landing on her but i've assured him that she doesn't think that it's his fault.
she's got a broken leg and he's got a broken heart!!
she hasn't eaten anything but a small piece of cheese since the accident.
I have made sure to keep fluids in her, which she's been pretty good about.
but food talk? absolutely NOT going for it.
I was able to rock her to sleep the first night but last night she was just ornery and wanted her bed so I propped her little leg up and when I checked on her five minutes later she was out.
about a half an hour later she woke up and just wanted me to hold her..
I rocked her some, tried to give her some water, and finally laid her back down but she just cried and wanted me to hold her.
I stood at her bed side trying to comfort her when all of he sudden she was projectile vomiting!
it was EVERYWHERE and the poor baby couldn't stop.
she was so upset and instantly got a high fever.
I gave her some tylenol and rocked her to sleep...
the poor baby is so sick from being in pain, it's horrible.

I wish there was something I could do to make her feel better.
she is still asleep on my big comfy chair so I'm hoping she stays that way a lot today.
It's heartbreaking to watch your baby hurt like this!
I am anxious to hear from the doctor, I hope that a hard cast will fix the break but since it is her growth plate he said it is a bigger issue.
lets cross our fingers...
and can you keep my little princess in your thoughts and prayers?
