I am a confused girl when it comes to this.
I believe in God. And I know in the bible it says, to make it short, go to church. Praise Him. Together. But religion... that's another story. When I was in 2nd grade, my best friend lived across the street. Her family still does, to this day. They are Mormon. Her Dad is the bishop now. I loved her so much, I even got us best friend rings. ;) There was never a problem with us hanging out..although her family- very LDS, my family- very not LDS. Until one day........
It was her birthday. Sunny September day. She invites a bunch of friends over for a little pool party. We ate cake and ice cream, opened presents, and then it was time to get in the pool! So I ran home and put my cute little two piece swimming suit on and skipped right back on over to join the party. To say the least, her parents kicked me out of the party for wearing that cute little two piece.
I was devastated. I don't think we ever 'hung out' again.
People like that... are the reason I doubt religion. Who are you to judge my damn swimming suit? Or judge that my parents choose to smoke? When did Heavenly Father say that caffiene is against his beliefs or that if you aren't 'sealed in the temple', you won't see your loved ones in the after life?
I admire the family values that the Mormon religion teaches theirs.
And I admire the morals that they carry.
I've never seeked information correctly and consecutively to be able to hold a proper debate on my beliefs of it. I'm not really sure.
I do know that I believe in God and I know he loves me and has blessed me ever so greatly.
