Life organization=Life balanced??

I've been having... troubles{?} with Jackson lately. I hate to call them troubles, because I'm sure every parent deals with these things at some point in their childs life. 90% of the time, Jax is angel. Willing to help with anything he can and is so patient and caring to his sister. Then there is that 10% where I swear the devil comes out. He tortures Jentri, says naughty things, and won't do anything he is asked to. Yesterday, he went to his Dad's house for a couple hours and when I picked him up, he was pissed. He said "I don't like you. You aren't my boss so I'm ignoring you." I'm not okay with that! He pushes his sister, takes her toys away, yells at us, slams doors, doesn't eat his dinner. He gets toys taken away, he goes to bed early... but nothing works. He gets out of bed 100 times and by then I'm just sick of telling him to go back to bed so he just stays up and acts like nothing happened. I used to have him on a schedule and be very well organized and that has kind of gone to crap, so maybe that's why? I made this little chart and I'm going to hang it some where in the house and it will be his responsibility to check them off. They are little things that I think are his place to do, and he won't be allowed to play, watch TV, or eat snacks until they are finished.

I have been so busy with my craft sales that I have kind of let everything go. I am either at work, playing with the kids, cooking, cleaning, or making bows/other items. I feel horrible that we don't have a set schedule and I'm not all that organized... But I don't have an option to not do my side stuff. The extra money has helped so much. I would rather sit home and do orders, than have to go out and get a second job and leave the kids.

I really need some organization tips though! I think this will be good on Jackson's part. But what is a decent time to make him go to bed? What are his bed time doings? -read a book? -brush his teeth, of course. Anything else? I can't remember where I saw it but this Mother made 2 bedtime passes, her kids could get up twice... it could be for a bathroom break, to tell her something, to get a drink. But once those 2 passes were gone, there was no more! I wonder if that would work?

What about dinner? Do you plan weekly/bi weekly meals? How do you do your grocery list?
I spend so much money on eating out because I don't have meals scheduled. That is HUGE in budgeting and something that I really want to get control of.

What organization/schedule keeps you and your family well balanced?

  1. Definitely plan your meals! I have got our groceries down to like $80 for 2 weeks, as long as we dont have to buy all the extras that payday. I printed off a calender and then I fill it in for what we will eat every night. Some nights we switch the days up, depending on what sounds good, but we always eat off the menu. Then when you buy groceries, buy according to what you need to make those meals. It makes the world of a difference! I will send ya pics of how I do all mine if you want!
